Accessibility

The people we want in the room include people who are not sure they belong there yet. A site or an event that is hard to use works against that, so we treat access as part of the job.

What we aim for

This site aims to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA.

What we have checked

Last checked October 9, 2026. On that pass we:

  • Ran an automated scan (axe-core) on every page, at desktop and phone widths.
  • Checked that every link, button and form field can be reached and seen with a keyboard alone, including the menu on small screens.
  • Measured the contrast of every text color against its background.
  • Checked every page at 320 pixels wide for content that gets cut off.

What we know is not done

  • Nobody who relies on a screen reader has tested the site yet. We checked the page structure a screen reader is given, which is not the same thing.
  • The orange "AI" in the Capital AI logo is lower contrast than our text. It is a logo, and the name is also given in plain text.
  • RSVP pages are on Eventbrite, which we do not control.

At events

Meetups are in person at Paddy Malone's Irish Pub, which has a step-free entrance. If you have another access need, tell us before the night and we will tell you what to expect and do what we can.
